2005/09 KOREA(chooja) KOZO OKUBO
I went to Chooja islands in Korea.

The Kingfish in Chooja attack the top-water lures where the fast current directly hit the islands.
In other words, where there are changes in the current, right off the island.
It is very exciting as we can target Kingfish with the same approach as GT fishing.

A picture of my first Kingfish of the year.
This is the Hammer-head Faube A-cup (Hair-tail) which I brought as my secret weapon.
I proved my self right again.

It seems that the Forb A-cup Hair-tail color was the exact choice of lure when considering
the fact that the bait-fish eaten were Hair-tails.

Once we mastered the “Hair-tail pattern”, we were able to basically get one cast one fish.
It would be impossible to present all the fish caught here, so I would like to introduce just a few.
Successful landing of a double hit with Mr. Ogasawara.

Mr. Ogasawara caught his on Rambo Jr. and I with the A-cup Hair-tail color.
Both fit the Hair-tail pattern but the A-cup produced significant results.

Li Yonjyu captain also caught a Kingfish on the A-cup Hair-tail color.

The A-cup Hair-tail color is amazing!!
2 fish on 1 lure. You do not see this happen everyday.

We continue catching fish until the sun sets.
Unbelievable catch with the A-cup Hair-tail color.

Here is what we produced in about 1 and a half hours in the afternoon.
It can be said that the lure which has been designed with the consideration of size,
popping sound, and strength for Blue-runners can produce amazing results when the color matches the bait fish in that area.
The Faube A-cup is an amazing lure.

When opening up the Kingfish, there were only Hair-tails inside the stomach.
There were some pretty considerable size Hair-tails included as well.

The filming of the Korean fishing program started the next day.

When I landed a fish when filming, the camera man gestured to me to hold the rod in my mouth.
Apparently there is a common understanding in Korea that “Kozo Okubo = rod in mouth when taking a picture with a fish.”.
When taking a picture with the rod in ones mouth is called the “Kozo Okubo style”.

Here is a scene of me explaining in Japanese for a Korean TV show,
the amazing results produced by the A-cup Hair-tail color.

Next I try using the prototype lure “Sharapoa”. The results were immediate.

Although small, a double catch with Mr. Ogasawara.

The size caught on the Sharapoa increased as time went on.
In other words, I was able to get an understanding of how to maneuver the lure for large Kingfish to bite.

The biggest one so far.

Easily over 1m. Probably around 12 to 13kgs.
Caught on Sharapoa (prototype).
I cannot put the amazement of catching such size Kingfish on top water lures into words.
