2006/5/3〜8 OKINAWA KOZO OKUBO
I went GT fishing on the Yosemiya 3 in Okinawa.
It had been 2 years since I had last come fishing to Okinawa.
I joined Mr. Kato’s team (Nagoya) for this trip.
I’m not sure if this is as usual, but throughout Japan,
extreme weather has influence all aspects of life, and when we thought spring came,
a cold front comes and its back to Winter, effecting all fish species.
However, for some reason, the GT fishing in Tokara and Okinawa seemed to be on a great start, with lots of good news.

I was next! I managed to hook up on the 2nd bite!
Although the first fish I lost was small, I took extra care in fighting this fish.

I can’t say that this was the size I was after, however, it was a 23kg GT with a sexy mole by its eye.
I was glad to have caught a Okinawa GT since 2 years. Thank you Captain Maeda!

The next day, Mr. Katou (Aichi) hooke up. Fighting hard, it seems big.
After a while a decent GT surfaced.

The GTs in Okinawa tend to be thick for its length.

I went GT fishing in Okinawa on Yosemiya 3 again.
The domestic GTs are on a great run this year, so intend to go on many trips to catch a bigger fish.

On the first day when the GTs were reluctant to attack our lures,
Rumiko hooked up what seemed to be decent by jigging.

The fish landed by a jigg was a small GT!

The next fish attacked Mr. Nishi’s (Okinawa) lure.
This time he was carefully fighting. He actually lost a fish prior to this one just before landing…

Although small, he was a happy man.
